Spitfire

Image
This was done about the same time as the last one. What good is a spitfire plane with only painted teeth :)

Toon Plane

Image
Here's a plane I designed awhile ago, only if it could actually fly in the real world :)

Grampians in B&W

Image
These photos were taken way back in my university days, during an art camp. Some photoshop filters were applied as you might have guessed.

Mean Machine

Image
Here is another old model rendered using the latest version of Lightwave.

Ankara in the snow

Image
Just a couple of pictures I took last winter when I was in Ankara. I played around in Photoshop...kinda turned out ok.

Managing content/plugins the easy way

If you ever beta tested 3d software before you know it can be tiring to manually move your plugins, shaders and content directories etc. to each a new build. In the case of Lightwave, each file can be located in a different directory within the app folder, which makes it even more time consuming. I so designed a little app to do the work for me, it's basic but works and I might develop it further. The idea is, you color label the your important files and folders you want to keep (at the moment it only works with the red label). You select your current app folder from which you want to copy the files over to the new build, in the video example it's called "current_lightwave". The files and folders that are going to be copied are listed in the listbox, so you can make sure you labeled all your files. Then click on the destination button and select the newest build folder, again named "new_update_lightwave" in this example and you're done :) Also, if ...

Speed Buggy

Image
Introducing Speed Buggy, the worlds coolest talking car.

Yogi Bear

Image
Sometimes, things are easy to model and sometimes you need to take a break, just to view them with fresh eyes. This was one such character, but it turned up pretty well in the end :)

There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!

Image
Here's one of my old models, more based on the vinyl toy version than the actual cartoon.

Varoom Roadster

Image
I had this model lying around and I just had to see how it looks with Lightwave's carpaint node. I must say it turned out great, I'll try it on my version of the Mean Machine next :)

Robo Puppy 2: the guard dog

Image
This is iPup's big brother and he likes to cause trouble. Although he can't bite, those huge front claws can cause some major damage...so be warned. grrrrr

Robo Puppy

Image
I found this great gallery of robots, but not just any boring robots you find on the web these days. These have style, a personalty and are so cool. Check it out: robotart I set out to model the little black dog in this photo but quickly went my own way. I'll post some renders of her big brother as soon as I finish the textures.

Quick Draw Mcgraw in 3D

Image
He's the fastest draw in the west and goes by the name Mcgraw. One of my favorites, to be honest, I like most of the classic cartoon characters. They are just so well designed and brought to life with great voices :)

Tweety Bird

Image
As part of the previous challenge, I attempted to model Tweety. This is how far I got in 90 minutes, pretty bad :) Some hours later, it ended up like this: After all that, I realized something was missing. Yes you guessed it, his eyelashes. I might get to them in the future. ps. these were all modeled and rendered in Lightwave 3d 9.5. Kuzey

Snoopy in 90 minutes

Image
Welcome to my blog, I hope you find it interesting. Members of Newtek's forum have started 3d speed challenges recently, it's fun trying to get much as possible done in the time limit. If you are into 3d, it's a great way to expand your skills. Here's Snoopy, modeled in just a touch over the 90 limit...I had to redo the limbs, but it's funny how you can waste time even when not trying to. Here's a rendered version: All the best, Kuzey
