Creating Complex Directories Easily

If you're a professional artist, then creating project directories can be a pain. I have an app for that, well, a work in progress :) It's pretty simple really, scan your root content directory, select the folder(s) you want to clone for a new project, enter a name and press create. You can also add additional folders without creating a at a later date. No more manually, copying and or renaming or using shells or AppleScript etc...etc. Anyway...checkout the video. PS. This will work for any Directory Structure you have...like all of them :P

File Directory Management App: Wip2

So here's an update on my little program..scanning directories and sorting out how to view all the content. Next step, selecting files and folders ready to copy or archive...Mmmmm Psst..the interface will be worked on after everything else :)

File-Directory Management App

I'm going to start a to-do list..so I can get things done :) This is one of my New Year's resolutions..to finish this app that I started way back in 2008 (Oh My).. see here. Basically, it backups or copies your presets, custom plugins or anything else you need, to a new destination..say, a new install of Lightwave 3d for an example..but the idea works with all apps or event content directories...no mess..no fuss. PS..that is not the final interface and the good thing is, it should now work on all three platforms...OS X, Windows & Linux. Let me know if you like the idea :)

Managing content/plugins the easy way

If you ever beta tested 3d software before you know it can be tiring to manually move your plugins, shaders and content directories etc. to each a new build. In the case of Lightwave, each file can be located in a different directory within the app folder, which makes it even more time consuming. I so designed a little app to do the work for me, it's basic but works and I might develop it further. The idea is, you color label the your important files and folders you want to keep (at the moment it only works with the red label). You select your current app folder from which you want to copy the files over to the new build, in the video example it's called "current_lightwave". The files and folders that are going to be copied are listed in the listbox, so you can make sure you labeled all your files. Then click on the destination button and select the newest build folder, again named "new_update_lightwave" in this example and you're done :) Also, if ...
