Lightwave Core Screenshots!!

Image
A couple of screen grabs of the Lightwave Core have just landed and I must say the Core looks amazing. The focus of this years development will be on the modeling environment, which has been lacking during the 8x and 9x series and now we know why. That old code base was far too restrictive and now it seems that Newtek's developers have set the stage for a brand new and exciting era in Lightwave. The interface skin in those screenshots are wips and might change as the development progress continues. This screenshot shows one master object with a sub divided level of 17, and cloned six times, for a total of 56,714,805 polygons. That is amazing as I never sub divided my objects higher than level 6. We finally get to the ability to work with highly complex scenes without having the program bog down or crash like in the past. This will make a lot of people happy and if we can edit polygons and points with ease then that would be the icing on the cake. The original dragon model h...

Tin Marching Band having some fun

Image
The theme of last weeks speed modeling challenge was "what goes up, must come down". I made the glove (19mins) and the hand held trampoline or what ever it's called (14mins) as part of the challenge. Here's a quick render...still needs a lot work, maybe motion blur and some other objects to break up the floor background, but they are all finally together in the one place.

Army Surplus Special

Image
I do love a crazy design and you can't beat those Wacky Races vehicles. Here's the Army Surplus Special updated for Lightwave 9.6. The first set is rendered using the carpaint node on the tank section. I like the second set more with the frosted metal surface. Anyway, I should get both versions uploaded at the weekend....so stay tuned.

Also, donate if you can by clicking on the paypal button and you'll receive a ton of good karma in return :) The above four images a previews based on the new Lightwave Core and will be available next week. More to come.....

Tin Trumpet Player

Image
Here's comes the trumpet player, always eager to start playing even when not in his marching costume. In fact, he communicates most of the time with his trumpet rather than talking, as he doesn't like the sound of his own voice or the effect it has. You see, every time he tries to talk, anything made of glass would shatter into a million pieces :)
